Welcome to Computing Science
Computing science is the heart of so much of our everyday lives. When you use your cell phone, iPod, or even when you drive your car, you see computing science in action. Here, in the Department of Computing Science at the University of Alberta, we are putting research into motion.
The broad interdisciplinary nature of Computing Science is reflected by our flexible undergraduate programs, which include an open Specialization program (Computing and X), Business Minor, Software Practice and Bioinformatics Specialization programs as well as an Honors program. This diversity is also demonstrated by our internationally recognized faculty, who is committed to outstanding research and excellence in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
