IEEE Copyright Form

Authors of an accepted ICIA paper must submit an IEEE copyright form before the paper can be published in ICIA Proceedings. This form is available in both PDF and MS-Word. Authors should download this form, complete it, and then either email the form to icia09@cs.ualberta.ca or fax it to +1-780-492-3976 before May 1, 2009.

Final Paper Submission

If your paper has been accepted by ICIA 2009, please read reviewers' comments and the following instructions carefully in the preparation of your paper for final submission to ICIA 2009, before April 20, 2009. Note that, as we indicated in the acceptance letter, if your paper has been accepted for oral presentation, we need from you three files:

  • Your manuscript in Adobe PDF
  • IEEE PDF eXpress confirmation email of your paper's Xplore compliance, and
  • A 50-word abstract of your paper in plain text.
If your paper has been accepted for poster presentation, then in addition to the above three items, please
  • prepare your poster using this or this template as you wish, and submit it.

Please visit https://www.softconf.com/s08/ICIA2009/ to go to the actual final submission page.

Paper Submission Guidelines

All ICIA 2009 papers must be prepared in English. Six pages in the standard IEEE conference format (see instructions below) are allowed for each paper, including figures and tables. A maximum of two additional pages are permitted at an extra charge payable at the time of submitting the final, camera ready version of the paper.

Before submission, the PDF file of your final paper should be checked for IEEE Xplore compliance. General information on how to create IEEE Xplore compatible PDFs is available on the information page for using IEEE PDF eXpress.

Paper Templates

The following templates must be used in formatting your paper (see here for the layout of the document and useful tips):
  • For LaTeX: LaTeX style file, ieeeconf.cls, (download), and a LaTeX sample document, sample.tex (download), are available. The best way to produce a conformant pdf file is to use these command lines:
    1. latex sample (run twice to resolve bibliography references)
    2. dvips -Ppdf -R0 -tletter sample
    3. ps2pdf -dCompatibilityLevel=1.4 -dMAxSubsetPct=100 -dSubsetFonts=true -dEmbedAllFonts=true -sPAPERSIZE=letter sample.ps
  • For MS-Word: MS Word template, ieeeconf_letter.dot, (download), and a sample document, sample_letter.doc, are available. (download).
  • Refer to this for the layout of a sample paper.

Papers formatted differently from the above templates may result in your paper being rejected without review.

IEEE Xplore Compliance

For your paper to be included in ICIA proceedings, its PDF file must be IEEE Xplore compliant. You should login to IEEE PDF eXpress using the conference ID, icia09x, to check for this. The confirmation email of your paper's compliance must be submitted in the final submission if your paper is accepted into ICIA 2009 proceedings.
