  Introduction

This site contains information about privacy preserving data mining, including the main researchers in this area, some research projects, publications since 1991, tutorials, and workshops.

Although privacy, security, and data mining is a new research area, we can see some great advances. The recent proliferation of privacy-preserving data mining techniques is evident. The interest from academia and industry has grown fast, and separated workshops and conferences devoted to this topic has flourished.

Given all these facts it seems that privacy preserving data mining will play an increasing role in the future for data privacy in the information age. The progress in this new area may suggest that this technology will achieve the goals that have been set for it.

We hope this site can help many people interested in this new area. Considering that this site in under construction, we would appreciate comments and suggestions since some important information may be not available in this preliminary version.
