CMPUT 401 - Acceptance Test Review...
Acceptance Testing
The purpose of acceptance testing is to
obtain an independent assessment of the quality
of your delivered project.
Details on what makes up an acceptance test can
be found
here.
The procedure for acceptance testing is as follows:
- Each team will take delivery of another team's
product. They will unpack the product,
install it, and perform the supplied acceptance tests.
Therefore
what you will need to hand over to the team that
will test your product is:
- User's Manual or Guide.
- An Installation Guide that tells the testing team
how to install your product and who to contact in the
event of problems.
- The actual product in a tar or zip file format.
- A link to your Project Plan which should describe
the user requirements that your team committed to
at the beginning of the project.
Marking for the Acceptance Test Document will be as follows:
[worth 7% of total project mark,
marked out of 100%]
- Document - 50%
- Success of tests - 50%
- If problems are encountered during this process,
the client team will follow the problem reporting
procedures as given in the deliverable. If
the supplier is unresponsive, the acceptance
tester can reject the product.
- Then the team can subject the product to
their own acceptance tests, which should focus on
the key claimed features of the product.
- You must maintain a complete log of your
acceptance testing activities, including any communication
you had with the supplier team. This log is
submitted as part of the acceptance testing report.
- The results of the testing should be recorded
in a brief report, with a clearly indicated
decision of:
- accept the
product passes all acceptance tests and has high
quality according to the tester's standards.
- accept with reservations the product fails
a few minor tests, or has quality problems.
- reject the product fails one or more
major tests
-
You will be required to demonstrate your knowledge of the
other team's project and justify your acceptance report
during the acceptance test demonstrations to be held
on the last week of classes (Dec. 8-9). At this
time you must also provide the instructor with a copy of your
acceptance review report.
Marking for the Acceptance Review and Review Report will be as follows
[worth 10% of total project mark,
marked out of 100%]
- Preparation for review - 30%
- Team participation in the review - 20%
- Overall review quality and quality of the review report - 50%
